Sjon Hartman is a junior Professor and group leader of Plant Environmental Signalling and Development at the University of Freiburg, Germany. His lab was established in 2022 and studies how spatiotemporal signalling under flooding stress leads to stress acclimation and survival. Major research foci include the mechanisms of encoding flooding stress memory and adaptive root plasticity under waterlogging stress.
