Jérôme Salse is a researcher at the National Research Institute for
Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE). He obtained an
engineering degree in 1996 from the École Supérieure d'Agriculture
de Purpan à Toulouse, obtained his Phd from the University of
Perpignan in 2002, and received his authorization to direct diploma
in 2009 from the Université of Clermont-Ferrand. Jerome Salse
conducts research in paleogenomics which consists in reconstructing
the past evolution of plants by deciphering the genome of their extinct
ancestors to open novel avenues for the development of new
varieties adapted to new agricultural contexts of the agro-ecological
transition and climate changes.
